We all secretly prefer the handicapped stall. You know it and I know it. But at The Penthouse at the Huntley Hotel, aka the rooftop bar, the handicapped-stall experience is essential. And that's in both the men's and the women's bathrooms, which are mirror images of each other. Don't bother with the small stall, or even the urinal. If the big one is taken, just hang next to the sink and pretend to be texting someone. It's worth it. Not for the space but for the stunning ocean view, which stretches south along the shoreline toward the Santa Monica Pier for the ladies, or up to Malibu for the guys. You don't have to crane your neck or leave the porcelain. Even at night you can still spot the waves, and the glowing green Fairmont Miramar Hotel pool next door. Bathrooms give the gift of time, because for those few minutes, you can't be anywhere else. Except for Disneyland and Hefner's bedroom, this single, 1.6-gallon Toto may be the happiest spot in Los Angeles. 1111 Second St., Santa Monica. (310) 394-5454, thehuntleyhotel.com.
