The sign over the door says, “We fix damages on clothes: Burns, Moth Holes, Rip, [sic] Tears, etc. We also fix sweaters.” And that's exactly what Alex's Reweaving has been doing since 1984 (and in its current location since 1989). The family-owned business employs mother, daughter, aunt and cousins, who learned to do the delicate repair work from spending after-school afternoons in the shop. So when you drop a lit cigarette on your Armani pants (French weave, starting at $40), or discover the moths have been munching on your favorite cashmere sweater ($25-$35 on average), head to Alex's. 5506 W. Pico Blvd., Mid-City; (323) 934-2106.
