Vintage furniture store TINI — which stands for This Is Not Ikea — grew out of owner Alexis Hadjopulos' serious shopping addiction (he once had an entire room in his house devoted to nightstands). His unique finds come from garage sales, estate sales, flea markets and auctions. Shabby chic lamps, midcentury-modern benches straight out of Mad Men, industrial tanker desks, velvet Chesterfield sofas — he's got it and then some. Hadjopulos is a dedicated shopper, so new stuff is always coming in. And unlike most secondhand stores, TINI has an online gallery, which allows you to browse before you buy. The “random things” category is always a hoot. With competitive pricing, a nifty 14-day exchange policy and delivery options, TINI combines the weird, idiosyncratic appeal of ye olde neighborhood thrift shop with the convenience of that big-box, assemble-it-yourself commercial store that shall not be named. 515 S.
