Imagine a Sam's Club for foodists (but without the membership fee) and you have sense of the atmosphere at the warehouse sale at Epicure Imports. Pushing oversized shopping carts, gourmet bargain hunters swarm the aisles of the specialty food distributor's North Hollywood warehouse, loading up on giant bags of Chinese black rice and organic buckwheat flour, tiny jars of chestnut tree honey and basil Dijon mustard — and truffle-infused everything. The crowds get especially big in the cold-storage room, where you can hit sample tables before plunging into a chilly wonderland of cured meats, pâtés and cheeses, many flown in from France and not available from any other U.S. distributor. Epicure opens its warehouse to the public just six or seven weekends a year. The next one is scheduled for Nov. 22-23 — just in time for you to jazz up your Thanksgiving with a killer charcuterie plate. 6900 Beck Ave., N. Hlywd.
