Hidden away on the second floor of the cavernous uber-rehearsal complex known as Bedrock, you will find Pins and Needles, the largest collection of vintage pinball games this side of Las Vegas' Pinball Hall of Fame — from Space Invaders and Star Trek to the signature machines of Dolly Parton and the Harlem Globetrotters. Kitschy art and collectibles are hung over 30-plus arcade treasures, in a space that feels more like an eccentric, out-of-time rec room than anything else. But wait, there's more! The fawnlike Molly Atkinson, kind enough to share her private collection with the world at large, is also one hell of a seamstress. For those accustomed to hemming their vintage Sta Prests with electrical tape, tailored togs don't have to be intimidating. Molly will help you look sharp at a great price. Of your ill-fitting wardrobe, she says, “Bring it in and I'll work with you.” 1623 Allesandro St., 2nd floor, Echo Park. (323) 313-9449 (text Molly to make sure it's open; hours are very sporadic), pinsandneedlesla.com.
