If you're seeking something more interesting than a chain store for your pet supplies, Los Angeles has plenty of pet boutiques to choose from. They're all a little different, but most feature the same cramped space with hardened bakery “treats,” a small selection of high-end foods and a rack of assorted puffy pet jackets and T-shirts. Pasadena's Paw Boutique, however, is located within the Goldilocks zone of pet stores: monumental in comparison to most shops, its size is still a fraction of those pet superstores — or, as we like to call it, just right. The back wall is stocked with high-grade pet food, so you're bound to find the brand and flavor you're looking for. There are more cone options than even your vet offers, an assortment of medication-application devices, mountains of beds, travel bags for all occasions, several racks of toys and, at the center of it all, a double-wide aisle of treats. The selection of clothing and accessories may not be as expansive as some megastores, but you'll always find something squee-inducing. 537 S. Raymond Ave., Pasadena, 91105.
