When I arrived here in 1991, I was immediately struck by L.A.'s Latino culture — especially its murals. I had seen nothing quite like them — they were so colorful and rich with information. The ones I've chosen here are the ones I see daily or have discovered while driving around town. Some, like “The Bride and Groom,” are classics, but all are unique. (The graffiti-style mural behind Melrose Avenue is incredibly different from the rest.) The resounding themes that they all display connect the celebrations and the struggles that one sees while driving through L.A. every day.
