L.A. Weekly's Best of Issue 2012, with the theme Dark Fairy Tales, took over two months and 60 crew people to prep, shoot and layout. We shot at The Flying Morgan's real life castle in Laurel Canyon, chained Aladdin (screenwriter Max Landis) up with golden chains and convinced actual mermaid Hannah to be our Little Mermaid. We painted people blue, bought over 800 roses, and had one heck of a great time making these dark wishes come true. Here are some of our favorite images from the Best of Issue.
