Book Soup's magazine stand is so massive that it has to be kept outdoors, with a separate cashier. Its titles spill off the racks onto tables and surround the store's entrance. The impressive variety includes more publications in French than many stands have in total — and 14 different editions of Vogue. At Book Soup, they don't just have magazines for runners, they have magazines for triathletes. They've got rags about poker, pot, politics, fashion, computers and music. There's even something called Computer Music. There are so many gay titles. There's porn. There are tech mags that look like porn. There's Buttman. And, should any of this be your thing, they don't mind if you thumb. In fact, they encourage it, liberating some copies from the plastic so you can sample the goods. 8818 W. Sunset Blvd., W. Hlywd.
