You will find signs of Jim Morrison scattered all about Los Angeles, but it's in room 32 at the Alta Cienega Motel that the Venice native is best remembered. One of the last places Morrison stayed in America, the room was the Lizard King's home while he recorded “L.A. Woman.” Now superfans travel from around the world to scribble notes and lyrics on the walls, ceiling and even seat cushions. The owners of the otherwise nondescript motel have given up on repainting the $94-a-night room and instead have ceded it to the steady stream of visitors who keep it constantly booked. 1005 N. La Cienega Blvd., W. Hlywd., 90048. (310) 652-5797, altacienega.com. —Jackie Adams
