If you never got to slam somebody during bumper cars as a kid, or never had a go-Kart that went faster than a bicycle with a flat, Racer's Edge Indoor Karting is the place to finally get it right. These electric carts are billed as capable of 45 mph, so whether you're in the pack or out in front, it's a thrill. The hot competition comes at the tight corners, where these low-to-the-ground carts loudly bump and battle for position. The management sets you up with a helmet and a neck guard, straps you in, tells you the rules (um, no bumping) and you're off, usually with four or five other racers. At the end, everyone gets a full-color certificate showing their lap times. The winner is the one with the fastest lap-time average. It's $23 for 16 laps, so some people become members for better rates — two races for $25 on Monday and Thursday evenings for nonmembers, among other deals. 960 Chestnut St., Burbank.
