The new Lincoln Heights Goodwill, near Atwater Village, is remarkable for a few reasons. It's huge, encompassing two stores and a community center. The walls are covered in murals by local artists, and the store itself is one of the cleanest, best organized thrift stores we've ever set foot in. But perhaps most remarkable is the fact that it also has a full-fledged, sit-down cafeteria. The Cafe G provides job training for aspiring cooks and servers, and everything is made in-house, including the results of an extensive bakery program. There are sandwiches, tacos, salads and daily specials, such as baked chicken with rice and beans. Best of all, the prices are in line with what you'd expect from a restaurant in a thrift store: perfect for bargain hunters. —Besha Rodell
