Shopping for a new computer, television or sound equipment doesn't have to feel like a chore. Find some inspiration in the magical and unexpected Alice in Wonderland–themed Fry's Electronics in Woodland Hills. After entering through a topsy-turvy rabbit hole and then walking under a giant deck of cards spread out across the ceiling, you'll encounter numerous characters straight out of the pages of Lewis Carroll's storybook, all 10 to 15 feet tall. Fry's has a unique decorating theme for each of its 34 stores, and this one, opened in 1995, is truly special. Try shopping near a hookah-smoking caterpillar sitting atop an enormous mushroom or hunting down the madly grinning Cheshire Cat, all while buying batteries or a new vacuum cleaner. Each department holds surreal surprises, and half the fun is searching for them. Resolve to make your next high-tech shopping trip an adventure.
