Hidden inside the International Society for Krishna Consciousness is, unexpectedly, a great spot for a lunch date with a girlfriend. On the ground floor is a buffet serving healthful vegan or vegetarian food — all you can eat for $8, or charged by weight if you prefer. After you eat, head upstairs to Govinda's for a spot of shopping. It's a multicolored wonderland, full of floaty, silky Indian tops and tunics, as well as saris and even a few items for men. Here on Venice Boulevard, these flowery shirts will cost half what they do in Venice. There's a small selection of jewelry and some religious items — you can get a Ganesh or Buddha statue, as well as books and incense. And did you know that Dr. Bronner's Soap comes in scents other than peppermint? You'll find them here alongside soaps, plus teas and some organic food items, vitamins and supplements. 3764 Watseka Ave., Culver City, 90034. (310) 836-1269. —Lisa Horowitz
