Under the outdoor faux cabana of Joseph Cordova's venerable Los Feliz taco hut, Best Fish Taco in Ensenada — a spot that looks like a cross between a Corona Light commercial and Keanu Reeves' man cave — there are yuks aplenty. Normally you'd come here to eat delightfully fried fish and/or shrimp tacos — maybe a soda. But on alternating Tuesdays (the first and third of every month), the hip, the punk and the snarky are crowded here under stage lights, laughing their skinny-jeaned asses off. Promoter Jeremy Burke's comedy mash-up has more of a neighborhood, punk-rock throwdown feel than a U2-on-a-rooftop vibe. No one is above anyone else. There's no admission fee. There's not even a stage. But there are, unbelievably, big-name jokesters like Patton Oswalt, Maria Bamford, Kyle Kinane, Pete Holmes … and so on. All of them seamlessly mix with the up-and-comers for the absolute best combination of Mexican finger food and humor that exists anywhere. 1650 N. Hillhurst Ave., Los Feliz.
