Jay Leno is leaving The Tonight Show next spring, but L.A.-area fans will always have the Comedy & Magic Club for those nights when they just have to have a jolt of Jay. Leno has been a Sunday-night fixture there for the last 25 years, trying out material he plans to use in the coming week. He plans to keep appearing every Sunday night, even after he leaves NBC. Leno's like-clockwork weekly appearances are only one of many reasons the Comedy & Magic Club is the preeminent comedy club in the South Bay. Unlike most, it features great food at reasonable prices — order the rib-eye rare, and it will be rare. Seating is first come, first served, so get there early and get a seat right by the stage, where you are sure to be abused by a stand-up looking for a friendly foil. Owner Mike Lacey has developed personal relationships with a bunch of big names — Brad Garrett, Ray Romano and Kevin Nealon among them — who form a supporting cast for Leno's superstar Sunday-night shows. 1018 Hermosa Ave., Hermosa Beach, 90254.
