You may have missed seeing them play in real life, but you can visit several jazz and blues greats in their final resting places, at the Inglewood Park Cemetery, including Ray Charles, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker, Big Mama Thornton, T-Bone Walker, Billy Preston and Richard Berry. The friendly caretakers will give you directions to your heroes and may even lead you there personally. Bring your acoustic guitar, find a comfy spot in the beautiful, parklike setting and serenade the ghosts of your idols. If that isn't an option, then merely put in your earbuds and turn up the music. Sit still, close your eyes, feel their magic and then take a few photos with them. They probably won't mind. 720 E. Florence Ave., Inglewood, 90301.
