Doing a cleanse? Preggers? Driving everyone home? You want to get your party on, but it's a no-alco night? The Edison lets you feel like one of the “sin” crowd, while still being good, with its selection of well-crafted, nonalcoholic cocktails. Head bartender Andrew Smith, who created the menu, says, “It opened the opportunity for nondrinkers, designated drivers and the like to still enjoy and have a handcrafted cocktail instead of your standard nonalcoholic beverage.” The drinks use the same techniques and ingredients as the real thing, sans alcohol. The Paper Moon offers up the zing of lime with cool cucumber and simple syrup, while the Natasha is a combo of fresh raspberries and lemon juice, and the Willoughby marries apple juice and ginger (ale and syrup). Screw the club soda with a twist. The Edison's list will whet your (very sober) whistle. 108 W. Second St., dwntwn. (213) 613-0000, edisondowntown.com. —Lesley Jacobs Solmonson
