Bertha Nunez Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Firestone Boulevard

NORWALK, CA (August 12, 2021)75-year-old Bertha Nunez died Sunday morning after a deadly pedestrian crash on Firestone Boulevard in Norwalk.

The accident happened right after 8:00 a.m., August 8, on Pioneer and Firestone Boulevard. Officers arrived to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, the driver of a white GMC Savana 3500 van pulled out of a parking lot and struck Nunez.

In addition, the driver fled the scene following the impact. However, he returned a few moments later, but failed to notify deputies that he was the driver.

Paramedics arrived and pronounced Nunez dead at the scene, due to the extend of her injuries.

An active investigation is currently underway.
