54-Year-Old Motorcyclist Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash near Church Road

CAMPO, CA (June 10, 2024) Bert Gallegos died Monday night in a motorcycle crash on Old Highway 80 and Church Road.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m.

According to the initial investigation, officers report that the driver of a southbound 2014 Toyota Corolla made a left turn into the Golden Acorn Casino.

At that point, a northbound rider on a 2022 Harley Davidson Road Glide collided with the front end of the Corolla. The collision ejected the rider from the motorcycle, causing life-threatening injuries.

Medics pronounced the motorcyclist deceased as he was about to be airlifted to a nearby hospital. Responding paramedics transported the 78-year-old woman driving the Corolla to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.

The medical examiner later identified the deceased rider as 54-year-old Bert Gallegos of Ramona. California Highway Patrol officers will provide more information regarding the fatal motorcycle crash on Highway 80 as it becomes available.
