Sen. Bernie Sanders is the rock star of 2016 presidential candidates.

His recent rally before a capacity crowd at the Wiltern Theater in Koreatown created pandemonium. Few politicians have inspired topless displays, custom T-shirts and outright devotion among the young.

Hipsters definitely “feel the Bern.”

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation, using a take on that unofficial Sanders slogan, wants young Angelenos to take some of that love and point it inward.

Today the nonprofit organization announced that it has launched a billboard campaign (see a photo, below) that encourages people who “Feel the Burn” to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases.

“Sen. Sanders’ powerful message resonates with a lot of Americans, particularly young people,” says Jason Farmer, a senior director at Hollywood-based AHF. “We hope that our lighthearted but highly important billboard campaign will as well.”

The billboards will be installed at four locations in L.A., including at Santa Monica Boulevard and Vine Street and at Century and La Cienega boulevards.

“With reported cases of STDs such as gonorrhea and syphilis on the rise nationwide, the playful advertisement urges people in L.A., especially younger residents, to protect their health by participating in STD screenings,” AHF said in a statement.

In September, a billboard campaign by AHF encouraged users of hook-up apps such as Tinder and Grindr to get tested.

Tinder wasn't happy. The firm behind the app sent a cease-and-desist letter. But it ultimately backed down and even added a link that allows users to find STD testing and information locations.

In L.A. AHF's Wellness Centers provide free STD tests. You can find the nearest one by clicking here.

In the meantime, keep feeling the Bern. Just hopefully not in your pants.
