18-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Single-Vehicle Crash near Mariposa Road

TUCSON, AZ (May 15, 2024)Bernardo Arango was killed Thursday morning in a high speed collision on southbound Interstate 19.

Authorities responded to the scene around 8:00 a.m., on May 2nd.

Per reports, police officers noticed a stolen Toyota Tacoma speeding and tried to stop it. The driver accelerated, initiating a chase. The driver eventually lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times.

Due to severe injuries, medics declared the driver, 18-year-old Arango, dead at the scene.

Authorities cordoned off the surrounding area for several hours. An active investigation to gather more information is ongoing.
