61-Year-Old Driver Killed in Collision on Zerker Road

SHAFTER, CA (April 15, 2021) – 61-year-old Bennie Foronda was killed after a two-truck crash on 7th Standard and Zerker Road in Shafter, Monday night.

The accident was reported around 11:30 p.m., on April 5, at the intersection of 7th Standard and Zerker Road.

According to reports, a semi-truck slammed into another semi-truck. However, the events leading to the crash are still unknown.

Due to the impact of the collision, Foronda’s truck rolled over before coming to a stop. Despite life-saving efforts, Bennie Foronda was later pronounced dead.

There has been no news of the other truck driver. It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.

The surrounding area on 7th Standard and Zerker Road was closed for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has reopened.

At this time, an active investigation is currently underway.
