5 People Injured and 30-Year-Old Suspect Arrested in a Deadly Hit-and-Run Incident

PHOENIX, AZ (May 24, 2023) – Friday night, Benjamin Felipe Liano was arrested after injuring multiple people in hit-and-run incident. The incident happened on May 19th, just before 10:30 p.m., in the area of Indian School Road near Interstate 17. According to reports, Liano was headed eastbound on Indian School Road when he struck the vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 17. The vehicle was occupied by three children and two adults. Liano then fled the scene without rendering aid to the victims. Police later caught and arrested him. Furthermore, the officers arrived at the scene and found five people seriously injured. Following the crash, medics transported the victims to a local hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, police charged 30-year-old Benjamin Felipe Liano with DUI and aggravated assault.
