Bye-Bye Beckham! Or, make that, Arrivadercci,  Los Angeles! as an Associated Press story reveals that Italian soccer — whoops, we mean, football — team AC Milan is exploring ways to get the former Manchester United captain to wiggle out of his contract with the L.A. Galaxy. The Los Angeles team, which pays Beckham an annual base salary of $5.5 million, loaned him to the Milanese for a two-month stint that ends in March. Apparently the Italians liked him so much they've decided to keep him. A Bloomberg.com piece quotes Milan sources as saying the team could probably not initiate negotiations with L.A. Galaxy to purchase Beckham's contract until after the midfielder completes his current play in Italy.
