A 95-year-old man spent the night in the hospital, and it was for the typical kind of “slip-and-fall” injuries old-timers are known for.

No. The poor senior was stung at least 200 times by bees, possibly Africanized honey bees, according to the Daily Breeze.

It all happened …

… as the oldster was walking in the 1700 block of Ruxton Lane about 2:50 p.m. yesterday, said Redondo Beach police Sgt. Phil Keenan.

The lieutenant says:

They went into his ears, the palms of his hands, his arms, his face, his neck, everything that was exposed.

Eek. The bees appeared to have come from a nearby apartment building where an eradication effort failed: A fumigator had cut a hole in the attic in an attempt to push the insects out.

They returned.

The senior was okay, though: He was only being held for observation.

In any case, avoid the 1700 block of Ruxton Lane in Redondo Beach. For now.
