Consider this bear, who attempted to squat in a home in Bradbury (a community in the foothills north of Baldwin Park) like a meth cook looking for a new, temporary kitchen:
Looks like Senor Oso found a nice, vacant house on a hot summer morning, in this case Sunday morning, and decided to camp out.
Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Barranca Road in Bradbury about 10:39 a.m. only to find their intruder was a 300 pound bear, according to a sheriff's statement.
What to do?
With crackheads and other squatters the appearance of badges and guns would be enough for a quick eviction, but deputies weren't so luckly:
Even after trying to scare the animal, it wouldn't budge, cops said.
And so it was up to the state Department of Fish and Wildlife to coax the bear out with three tranquilizer shots, which ultimately worked, sheriff's officials said.

But not before the bear appeared to be sick and actually came outside to greet state and local officials. The L.A. County Sheriff's Department:
At some point, the bear walked out of the house and into the yard where he was shot with tranquilizing darts, which did not take effect until after the third dart.
An awaiting truck swept the bear away to an animal hospital so it could be checked out and hopefully released to the great outdoors, the nicest address around.
