UPDATE at 6:02 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2016: A club representative gave us some details, at the bottom, about the incident: Rick Ross did make an appearance. First posted at 7:01 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2016.

Pellets from a BB gun struck clubgoers waiting in line outside a Hollywood club over the weekend, authorities said.

Two women who said they had been waiting in line at the Argyle late Saturday night told ABC Eyewitness News that someone in another nearby building began firing BBs toward the group outside the club as a photographer near the shooter filmed the scene.

The shooting at 1600 Argyle Ave. was reported late Saturday night, police said, and as many as three people were injured. Victims were treated at the scene and released, cops said.

Police shut down Argyle at Hollywood Boulevard after midnight as they searched unsuccessfully for a shooter in a building across the street, according to reports.

The club marketed the night, known as Argyle Saturdays, with a photo of rapper Rick Ross, his name used prominently on a digital flier. It's not clear if he made an appearance.

No arrests appear to have been made, and it's not clear what became of that reported video.

UPDATE at 6:02 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2016: A club representative who did not want to be named said Rick Ross did perform Saturday night.

He said he flagged down police about 1:10 a.m. Sunday after he saw someone in an apartment building across the street shoot BBs at clubgoers waiting in line outside the Argyle. Although people were hit, no one was really injured, he said.

The rep believes the shooter is part of a group of people across the street who have thrown eggs and water balloons at Argyle clubgoeres in recent weeks. He said he's not sure what's motivating them.

Rapper Tyga was expected to perform at the venue tonight.
