Undeterred by pandemic and election uncertainties, the Bay Area Council remains committed to generating new opportunities for California’s economic growth. For the third consecutive year in a row, the Council will host the California Pavilion at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.

Taking place November 5, 2020 – November 10, 2020, the Council will represent the Golden State by hosting the California Pavilion, whose sponsors include: Royal Business Bank, Sacramento Minority Business Development Agency, MEBO International and the Port of Oakland.

The Pavilion will feature more than a dozen California organizations who will showcase a wide range of products and services. For the participating economic development organizations and businesses who are unable to send staff in-person to China, the Pavilion’s remote web stations will be live and running to represent them.

CIIE is an important opportunity for California to participate in, as China remains one of the world’s world’s fastest growing economies. With expected attendance of over 500,000 participants, the Bay Area Council recognizes that CIIE remains one of the best ways for California businesses to connect with local Chinese buyers. Reports from last year’s 6-day event show over $70 billion generated in intended deal value.
