Pedestrian-Auto Collision in Big Bear Lake Area Left Woman Dead

BIG BEAR LAKE, CA (March 7, 2023) – Saturday evening, a pedestrian-auto collision near Polique Canyon claimed the life of Barbie Hughes. The fatal incident occurred on February 25th, in the Big Bear Lake area of San Bernardino County. Based on the investigation, Hughes was attempting to assist a person stuck in the snow. However, the circumstances that led up to the incident remain unclear. Responding medical personnel transported Hughes to a hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries Sunday morning while under sedation. At this time, the family of Barbie Hughes started a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
