At a time when the average L.A. beer bar seems to be about 13 weeks old, Barbara's at the Brewery turns 13 years old. So general manager Erik Huig, aka son of Barbara, is unleashing the best beer list you will find anywhere in Los Angeles tomorrow night, Saturday, Feb. 18, from 6 p.m. to midnight.

Barbara's, which we called the “the best beer bar you've never heard of,” has been building a reputation among local brewers and beer fans as a go-to spot for cutting-edge craft. Huig has only 15 taps but the quality of those taps and selection by beer style are among the best in the city.

Check out this sublime lineup of beer for the anniversary: How about the trifecta of Russian River Brewing Consecration, Supplication and Pliny the Elder for starters? Add a little St. Louis Geuze, Lost Abbey Deliverance and Craftsman El Prieto (a dark sour from the mind of Mark Jilg). Speaking of local breweries, Huig will have Strand's new release, Black IPA, and El Segundo's new release, Citra Pale Ale. The list stays strong with Allagash Odyssey, Flying Dog barrel-aged Gonzo Imperial Porter and High Water barrel-aged Aphotic Baltic Porter.

Barbara's is located in the largest artist colony in the world – the old Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewery that you can see from the 5 freeway just east of downtown L.A. And speaking of artists, the bartender serving your beer at Barbara's might just be Greg Lyons of Eastern Conference Champions, James Slay of Cap Gun Hold Ups, or Mike Hanne with …of the Horizon. Needless to say, the music they are playing at B's is as good as the beer selection.

Did we mention that Craftsman, Strand and El Segundo Brewing will be in the house to talk beer? You'll be in the house, drinking.
