Head-On Crash on Interstate 5 Left Bakersfield Man Dead

BUTTONWILLOW, CA (November 29, 2021) – A head-on crash on Interstate 5 left a Bakersfield man dead Friday afternoon.

According to California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 3:21 p.m.

Per reports, a 62-year-old driver was traveling north of Interstate 5 and collided with a 2020 Ford.
When Buttonwillow Officers arrived to the scene, they discovered that the 2004 Hyundai traveled the wrong direction. As a result, the vehicle collided with the 2020 Ford.
Meanwhile, due to the impact of the crash, authorities pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Police later identified the driver of the 2020 Ford as 65-year-old Cristie Manuwa. Medics took him to Kern Medical after sustaining major injuries.
