Vosges, the gourmet chocolatier best known for Mo's Bacon Bar, last week opened its first Los Angeles boutique. It's a large, luxurious shop with high ceilings and gorgeously detailed arches where chocolate, spiked with nutmeg and plantains, curry and caramel, wasabi and hibiscus, rests triumphantly like a museum curator's cache under glass domes. And Vosges is generous with samples. Exceedingly so.

Some time within the next week, hopefully by this Sunday, Vosges will officially open its in-store cafe, which will serve Blue Bottle coffee and an array of chocolate delights. The final menu remains in flux, but we're told the chocolate maple pudding served with an edible “bacon spoon,” is a sure thing. We're already licking our chops.
