Is bacon still a thing? It is? Huh. Interesting. Well, I guess then you'll want to know about this bacon festival happening in Long Beach in August.

Branded as the festival for “extreme bacon lovers,” the Big Bite Bacon Fest will be coming to the Queen Mary, the vintage ocean liner docked in Long Beach, on Saturday, August 2. The festival will feature chefs cooking a bunch of bacon-laced foods, beer and a bacon-cooking competition. Oh, and a bacon wedding (as in, people actually getting married, the bride carrying a bacon bouquet, etc.). ]

The festival will also feature “bacon themed entertainment.” What does this mean? Well, there's the opening ceremony where the Bacon Anthem will be sung, and something kind of sad-sounding called the Pardoning of The Pig. You should also be able to get your fill of pig-puns and the like. Pig Pong, Pork Ladder Toss, Bacon Hole, a Big Daddy Bacon Pageant and a dunk tank are all part of the festivities.

Tickets go on sale April 11. More information can be found here
