Back to Basics at the Garden Amp: The superb Garden Amp in the OC will celebrate the official start of summer with a hip-hop two-day mini-fest. The lineup is superb – Dilated Peoples and Raekwon headline, and are joined by GZA, Xzibit, KRS-One, Killah Priest, the Alcaholiks, Canibus, and many more. 

It’s a superb bill of classic hip-hop action, and some newbies further down the bill.

Describing GZA, the Garden Amp website reads, “One of the best MCs and lyricists in hip hop history, GZA’s career is a seemingly endless list of stunning accomplishments – from founding Wu-Tang Clan, to releasing Liquid Swords, one of the most influential albums in hip hop history, to lecturing at Harvard – GZA is, true to his stage name, a true genius.”

The Saturday lineup includes: Dilated Peoples, Xzibit, Tha Alkaholiks, Non Phixion “10 Year Reunion” Tour, Killah Priest, Vel Nine, Jae Skeese, The Cloaks – Gel Rock & Awol, Apollo Bepop.

Sunday features Raekwon, GZA, Canibus, Rome Streetz, 2 Mex, A-F-R-O, Villain Park.

Back to Basics at the Garden Amp: The event takes place at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26 at the Garden Amp.
