On Saturday, June 16, the folks from Golden Road Brewing, Tony's Darts Away and Mohawk Bend will host their first annual B3 charity event — that would be Bikes, Brunch and Booze and not vitamin B3, although a boost of niacin may not be a bad idea. The 11.2-mile ride (or 16.8 miles, if you're up for the return trip as well) benefits the Pablove Foundation, which helps fund pediatric cancer research.

The event starts at 9 a.m. at Tony's Darts Away in Burbank, where you can decorate your bike (there's a prize for Best Bike Decoration, so bling out accordingly) and carb-load on $3 biscuits with sausage-and-sage gravy and cheese grits. The ride then will head east to Golden Road Brewing for a water break of sorts ($1 half-pints) before ending at Mohawk Bend in Echo Park for brunch specials and more beer.

In addition to blue ribbons for bike aesthetics, there also will be prizes for fundraising: Rewards start at the $50 level (a six-pack of Golden Road Brewing beer cans) and go all the way up to the $1,000 level (a weekly free growler refill at Golden Road for a calendar year).

Registration for B3 is $25, which includes the obligatory free T-shirt. Register online or on-site starting at 9 a.m. on the morning of the ride.
