When Jay-Z and Kanye West ask you to make a cameo in one of their videos, you're either Beyonce, a Kardashian or Aziz Ansari. The comic stars in one of TV's biggest sitcoms, NBC's Parks & Recreation. He's also taped two stand-up specials, appeared in major movies and co-created MTV's short-lived Human Giant sketch show. Not bad for a not-yet-30 shawty from South Carolina. (“I hate the racism, but I love the biscuits.”) Ansari has always steered clear of the expected ethnic jokes, instead poking fun of dating, his chubby cousin Harris, R. Kelly and overhearing rappers' conversations. (50 Cent does not know the difference between a grape and a grapefruit). And, of course, there's “Randy,” Ansari's foul-mouthed gigolo alter ego, whom you may remember from the 2009 Judd Apatow flick, Funny People. Rumor has it there's a movie version of Randy in the works, also courtesy of Apatow. Word also has it that Ansari's latest stand-up tour, Buried Alive, delves into some serious stuff — adulthood, marriage, kids. Randy wouldn't have time for that kind of shit; he's too busy pleasing the ladies in the Jacuzzi. Orpheum Theater, 842 S. Broadway, dwntwn.; Thurs.-Fri., Sept. 13-14, 7 p.m.; $25-$45.
