Virginia-born but now L.A.-based rapper and R&B star Ayzha Nyree found her feet singing Alicia Keys and Whitney Houston covers when she was nine. Fast forward 12 years, and she’s making waves on her own. The first hint was her remix of Chris Brown‘s “No Guidance”, a viral hit.

But this year, she’s going to be an artist to watch. New single “Noya” features her fascinating vocal delivery; it’s like she’s singing rap lines, and it works to perfection. Meanwhile, the whole thing is framed with some haunting cello as she finds herself searching for an elusive good man:

“I can’t be what you like, You move likе a thief in the night, oh yeah, I’m a queen, where’s the knight, Lame n***a can’t be what I like.”

Nyree is signed to Republic Records and there’s certainly more to come from this talented artist.
