A rave that was moved from near downtown L.A. to San Bernardino over the weekend was criticized by party-goers for crowded lines and turning away many ticket-holders. But the worse news yet about the “Winterfresh” party is that a raver has reportedly gone missing.

Twitter accounts state Ayana Lopez never returned home following the festivities. A Weekly source says he spoke to her mother and confirmed she was missing.

A San Bernardino police spokesman said he was not made aware of a missing-person's report but that he would look into it.

Winterfresh was scheduled to happen Saturday during the day and night at Los Angeles Center Studios near downtown.

After Weekly requests to attend the event at the otherwise media-friendly venue were denied last week, the studio appeared to have gotten cold feet. It pulled the plug on Friday.

A statement on the promoters' Facebook page reads:

On Friday December 3rd at 5pm the L.A. Center Studios breached their location rental contract with the Winterfresh Festival. Their reasoning was unjust and we were forced to not be able to host this event on their property.

(Interestingly, there have been raves at the venue in the past).

Winterfresh was moved to two venues — the Hudson and Fox theaters in San Bernardino Saturday — and one on Sunday. It appeared that ticket-holders who planned to spend a day raving would have to chose a venue.

Party-goers were angry about the drive and having to chose a venue. One raver told the Weekly he had a ticket and waited four hours (video) to get in only to be turned away because the theater was packed.

Venues were apparently closed down early as a result of overcrowding. A couple tweets also reflected a possible on-stage overdose at one of the Winterfresh venues, but we could not confirm them.

“Complete fail! Hudson closed event early total BS!!!!,” tweeted one fan.

Update: A San Bernardino police official told the Weekly Monday afternoon that the girl, 14, has been located in safe condition. Her family had reported her missing to the Santa Ana Police Department.

A Santa Ana police watch commander confirmed she was found safe Monday.

The party had been advertised as “all-ages.”

Update #2: The girl's mother, 46-year-old Ruby Lopez of Santa Ana, told the Weekly that Ayana was missing along with a 16-year-old teenager. She says the pair was without money or a phone, stranded at the rave location over the weekend until Ayana's friend finally reached her own mother, who then dialed Lopez.

Lopez says she drove out to pick up her girl today.

She says she was there Sunday night looking for her and wasn't impressed with what she saw at the Sunday edition of the party.

“I went there myself last night to look for her,” she said. “I saw kids on drugs, I saw kids halfway naked, I saw kids having sex in the parking lot.”

We asked why she gave her daughter permission to go.

“I was ignorant,” Lopez said. “I didn't know how bad it is. I will never let her to go a place like that again.”
