Axel Braun, the director of Elvis XXX: A Porn Parody, recently received a death threat as well as more than 100 hate emails as a result of the January release by Vivid Entertainment, the studio reports.

An apparent fan of the King left a note on the director's car outside a Tarzana Gelson's supermarket that states, in part, “You will die soon you piece of trash,” according to Vivid. The vehicle's personalized plates readily tie it to Braun, the studio states.

The note goes on to allude to Elvis:

“Jesse knows!!!,” it states: “And he is coming for you.”

The reference is to the lore that Elvis is still alive and living under the identity of his stillborn brother Jesse.

It's not clear if last week's incident was reported to police. Braun says:

“These threats are more upsetting than scary. I'm actually a huge Elvis fan who just happens to write, direct and produce adult parodies, and I portrayed The King in a fun but totally respectful way. Obviously a large group of Elvis followers are elderly, church-going people, and I certainly expected them to have a negative reaction, but this is absolute insanity. Then again, the movie became a best-seller in less than a month which proves there are plenty of fans who understand my point-of-view.”

The lead in Elvis XXX: A Porn Parody is none other than the imaginatively named Dale DaBone. (Actually, there's a young Elvis and 1970s Elvis. He plays 1970s Elvis. We would have cast Ron Jeremy and put him a white, sequined suit). He says this:

“I grew up worshipping Elvis, and to play Elvis was just a dream come true for me. Axel's movie is a spoof, like many Elvis skits on Saturday Night Live or Comedy Central. It's sad to see that some people are taking it the wrong way.”

So, uh, don't be cruel to L.A.'s finest porn makers, Elvis fans.
