June (and May) gloom or no, daytime outdoor dance parties always tend to bloom this time of year, and one of the baddest is back starting this Sunday. For three years, The Do-Over has been gathering the city’s best DJs for beats, beer and BBQ, and they’re ready to do it, yes, all over again starting this Sunday. Residents Chris Haycock, Jamie Strong and Aloe Blacc always hold it down, pumping hip-hop and old-school perfection, but if the past three years are any indication, expect extra-biggie surprise guests on the decks for their fourth season. Crane’s Hollywood Tavern, 1611 El Centro Ave., Hlywd.; Sun., May 18, 2-10 p.m.; over 21; free with RSVP at www.thedoover.net.

A hair-of-the-dog drinky-poo (or two) may be in order after this Saturday night. Once again, mega-clubs Avaland and Giant battle it out with scintillating sound-makers we just have to recommend. Avaland will transform itself into famed Brazilian seaside oasis Warung Beach Club, with sets by that club’s groovers (Leozinho, Paciornik and Luiz Miolaro), while Giant offers its own giant: Armin van Buuren, dubbed by DJ Mag as “World’s #1 DJ.” He’ll likely be spinning heavily from Imagine, his latest trance-pop epic. Both Sat., May 17, 10 p.m.-4 a.m.; see www.avalonhollywood.com and www.vanguardla.com.
