When Jay-Z released his “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)” last summer, Bay Area based electro-funk upstart Wallpaper responded by remixing the song and slathering copious amounts of the titular effect on Jay's voice. Now Wallpaper, a.k.a. Eric Frederic,–a vocal advocate for the pitch-fixing recording device–is finally agreeing with Hova: he's selling his “AUTOTUNES” via Craigslist. Here's the ad:

2 AUTOTUNES 4 SALE – $1000 (OAKLAND SMOKIN)

HEY EVERYBODY ON CRAIGSLIST

IM SELLING MY AUTOTUNES. I HAVE 2. I DONT KNOW THE COMPANY BUT THEIRS PHOTOS (AND EXTREME CLOSEUP). PRETTY MUCH UNUSED EXCEPT (TOURED WITH THEM LIKE 500 SHOWS). MINT CONDITION EXCEPT (BOTH KNOBS -kinda- BUSTED OFF) BUT WORK OK IF U HAVE A MECHANICAL PENCIL OR LONG FINGERNAIL TO REACH IN AND TWIST IT WITH.

IF U WANT THE HOT SOUND OF T PAIN OR LITTLE WAIN OR EVEN WALLPAPER (THEY REALLY GOOD) JUST BUY THESE.

$1000 OBO OBJ OHJ

PS I AM NOT GOING TO DEPOSIT A CASHIERS CHECK OF URS AND SEND YOU BACK $800 IT IS NOT WORTH IT FOR ME PERSONALLY 🙂

It doesn't outright say who the seller is, but the bolded items make it pretty clear (especially the part about accepting blow jobs or hand jobs for payment). The timing coincides with the free release of a brand new Wallpaper song that, surprise, doesn't feature Auto-Tune.

Instead, the track appears to be the first to sport a Twitter-ready hashtag, along with some baritone rapping possibly inspired by Tyler the Creator, a reference to Four Loko, and a truckload of bass. It's called “#STUPiDFACEDD.” It's downloadable for free via Facebook, and streaming below.

In L.A.-relevant Wallpaper news, Frederic recently remixed Local Natives' “Stranger Things” and it's a far more subtle affair.
