87-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after DUI Collision near Polk Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 12, 2023) – Thursday evening, Aurora Reynozo was fatally struck in a DUI accident on Foothill Boulevard. The incident occurred shortly before 9:00 p.m., at the 14000 block of Foothill Boulevard near Polk Street in the neighborhood of Sylmar. Per reports, the driver of a northbound white Ford Fusion struck two people who were exiting their parked vehicle. The Ford then continued traveling down the road before striking five other parked cars. First responders declared one of the victims dead at the scene. Police later identified the deceased woman as 87-year-old Aurora Reynozo. Paramedics transported the second victim, described to be her friend, to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Responding officers managed to arrest the driver, Juan Martinez, for suspicion of felony DUI and murder charges. At this time, Martinez is being held on a $2 million bail.
