More than two weeks after George Floyd’s death sparked protests throughout the country, Los Angeles County continues to march and rally with at least 20 protests scheduled in several cities Friday.

Most notably, Black Lives Matter Los Angeles is officially supporting a 2 p.m. protest at the Ronald Reagan State Building, where they will rally to have the Christopher Columbus statue removed from the California State Capitol Building in Sacramento. 

Black Lives Matter Pasadena will also be holding a rally and march near the Pasadena Police Department building. A “peaceful forum” in support of Black Lives Matter was also scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena this morning.

There will be three gatherings at City Hall in downtown L.A., one being at 1 p.m. and led by Youth Justice L.A. That rally will revolve around police reform with an “open mic for youth and families impacted by state violence.” Another couple of gatherings at City Hall are scheduled for the afternoon.

The day’s protests began at 9 a.m. as Venice held a rally organized by the Rodney King Foundation, with his daughter present. 

There will also be protests in Torrance, Culver City, Cerritos, West Hollywood, North Hollywood, Santa Fe Springs, Hawthorne, Silver Lake, Sherman Oaks, Woodland Hills and Los Feliz.
