Norwalk Multi-Vehicle Crash on Studebaker Road Kills Mother and Teenage Daughter

NORWALK, CA (January 13, 2022) – A car accident on Foster Road killed Ashley Alvarez and Shannon Alvarez, late Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the incident around 10:40 a.m., at the intersection of Foster Road and Studebaker Road.

According to the authorities, a female driver was speeding and struck two vehicles. One of the vehicles that was hit had two occupants inside that suffered life-threatening injuries.

Norwalk officials arrived and suspected the female driver of being under the influence, and arrested her. Moreover, medics transported one person to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.

Due to the impact of the collision, 13-year-old Ashley Alvarez and 50-year-old Shannon Alvarez succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

Additionally, crews closed the intersection for several hours to conduct an investigation before it was later reopened.
