25-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Pine Avenue

LONG BEACH, CA (September 30, 2021) – Sunday morning, 25-year-old Asad Rasheed was killed in a pedestrian accident on East 5th Street.

Around 7:05 a.m., emergency crews responded to the area at the intersection of 5th Street and Pine Avenue.

Reports indicate that the driver of an unknown vehicle struck Rasheed. Although, the events leading up to the crash remain unclear.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, Rasheed was pronounced dead.

The surrounding area at the intersection was closed during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the road has since reopened to traffic.

Once available, more information about the pedestrian accident on East 5th Street will be released.
