You've been cooped up like a toy breed in a $5,000 purse, just waiting for the rain to clear so you can get out there to sniff around.

Now might be your chance.

The National Weather Service forecasts a clear night and then light rain for Saturday night. One tenth of an inch is predicted.

If you go crazy with the mezcal — mezcal is to the contemporary bar scene what vodka and Red Bull were to dance clubs 10 years ago — and then get behind the wheel, police will be on you like Chapo Guzman on his next escape plan.

Police are disseminating information about where they'll be with the hope that it might deter you from making the wrong decision.

Here's the info:

-Tonight from 4 p.m. to midnight extra Los Angeles Police Department officers will be searching for drunk drivers on the streets of its Central Bureau, which covers downtown and parts of the Eastside, Westlake and South L.A.

-Tonight from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. a DUI checkpoint will be awaiting your arrival at Manchester Avenue and Main Street in South L.A.

-Tonight from 6 p.m. to midnight there will be a sheriff's checkpoint somewhere in the city of Norwalk.

-Saturday extra officers will take part in a DUI “saturation patrol” on the streets of the LAPD's Olympic Division, which includes Koreatown, Harvard Heights, Angelus Vista, Wilshire Park, Windsor Square, part of Mid-City and the southern edge of Hollywood.

-Saturday from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. a checkpoint will be up and running on Lankershim Boulevard and Oxnard street in scenic North Hollywood.

-Sunday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. a saturation patrol will paint the streets of the LAPD's Foothill Division in the Valley in black-and-white.
