39-Year-Old Man Killed in Multi-Vehicle Accident near Frazier Mountain Park Road

FRAZIER PARK, CA (December 14, 2021) – Saturday evening, 39-year-old Arturo Velazco Santos died in a pedestrian collision on Interstate 5.

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 10:24 p.m., in the southbound lanes of the highway. Crews responded to the scene near Frazier Park Road shortly after.

Upon responding, officers located a pedestrian and three involved vehicles. Santos apparently pulled over his vehicle and left it in the slow lane before proceeding to cross traffic.

There, multiple vehicles struck him, ultimately leading to him being pronounced dead at the scene. No other drivers were injured.

This incident marked the 51st pedestrian fatality in Kern County for 2021, according to records by news sources.

At this time, the crash is still under investigation by California Highway Patrol.
