Arturo Segura and friends were walking from a liquor store in the 5800 block of Main Street when they were confronted by gang members around 7 p.m. Friday night.

As he and his friends tried to run away, Segura was fatally shot in the chest. “He was mistaken for a rival gang member,” said Los Angeles Police Department homicide supervisor Kelly Baitx. Baitx said one of the suspects, a juvenile, was arrested later that night. Anyone with information should contact LAPD Newton Division detectives at (323) 846-6556.
