Irish artist Bryan McCormack has lined six floors of the tube-like staircase Centre Pompidou in Paris with 80,000 colored condoms.

Well, sort of.

The art installation, called Preservation is Life, is actually made from an array of cylindrical light bulbs with colored condoms stretched over each one. Laid out according to color, the sea of condoms follows the curvature of the iconic building and sends visitors through waves of bright light.

There's also audio of heartbeats of different frequencies that boom throughout, offering a powerful experience meant to draw attention to AIDS awareness.
